They say travel is about the destination, but for me, this December was about the "re-destination"—a journey to gather a wealth not measured in currency, but in experiences and love.
I undertook a tour of six cities across West and South India with a singular mission: to reunite with good old friends from yesteryears and spend both quality and quantity time with them. At one city I met a dear old Aunty of mine & my cousin too. The result was pure, unadulterated nostalgia.

In several cities, I met those who had worked with or known my late father. Seeing the reverence and affection they still hold for him was a moving experience; that love was translated twofold onto me. One can never truly have an "excess" dose of love, but during those meetings, I certainly felt I came close.
I have always believed that the world and the people in it are fundamentally wonderful. This journey established that fact to my very core. It was a joy to witness the personal, familial, and professional growth my friends have achieved. In many cases, I felt a deep sense of pride witnessing their transformation—a true metamorphosis over the decades.
In an age of digital connection, I remain a firm believer in nurturing friendships beyond the screen. It isn’t enough to "WhatsApp" every now and then; we must physically show up. Science often lectures us on how social circles contribute to longevity and success; I believe in "walking that talk."
Over the past few years, I have naturally transitioned into the role of a practical (un-certified) Life Coach and Mentor to the youth. Several friends in academic institutes, universities, and Rotary Clubs across these six cities gave me the honor of speaking to their audiences. For that opportunity to share and inspire, I am deeply obliged.
Every friend is a prototype of a unique life lived. I enjoyed telling my stories, but more importantly, I enjoyed listening to theirs. Everyone has "gems of wisdom" to offer if we are willing to listen.
Beyond the wisdom, I basked in the simple kindness of home-cooked meals and the warmth of hospitality. This trip has infused me with a renewed energy and a "charge" to carry forward. To all those who cared for me and remain part of my journey: thank you. You are a huge chunk of my amazing world.
