Forgive & Forget

By Kiron Shenoy

One of the tenets you hear from the wise is to forgive those who sin against you. But-do you forget it after that!? Rarely, if not never…

There was this lovely person I worked with in the sojourns of my working life- who never flinched to forgive anyone for even the biggest fraud or sin he committed! However, even after decades he could (& would) narrate the minutest details of the episode which hurt him and for which he had whole heartedly forgiven that person. Imagine the huge amount of emotional baggage he was carrying for decades?

Of course, such emotional baggage can weigh you down and positively pulls your performance southwards. Letting go is the hardest part as it involves evolving yourself to the next higher level.

Tough times and hard times make us stronger but if we can forgive and forget too, we will become wonderful and happy human beings.

Have a great month of February 2021.
