LOOKING BACK!

By Kiron Shenoy

Many a times you would have heard your friends mentioning about the good times they had growing and how it was so much better that time than now!

It always amazes me that a majority of people live in their past, whether it is in happiness, sorrow or glory. Of course it is a content of our life and would have groomed us to where we are now but still one cannot bask in it.

Today’s reality is different and could be strikingly opposite.

I feel that even a tree drops its fruit that is rotten or spoilt, then why do we cling on to useless & sapping relationships. Niceness and kindness are excellent virtues but coupled with a spineless personality would mean doom and exploitation. That is where decision making comes into play and helps us move on or wean away and not look back.

Let not the same flame burn you twice!!Learning from our failures and mistakes is an amazing way forward, but wallowing in it is not. The world is full of people who are better than us in some way or the other. Let us get inspired by them and learn from their lives.

You will notice all the happy and successful people have a positive attitude and they thrive in the moment, rather than brood about the past. Like Wayne Dyer had said-Loving people live in a loving world- Hostile people live in a hostile world.

Our present times are amazing and technology has evolved so much that everything happens in real-time. Absorb and enjoy these moments and accept reality.

We are not rich or poor because of the external riches and materialistic possessions but because of the intrinsic values, beautiful thoughts & character that we lack or possess! Hone up that while you declutter the materialistic stuff.

You don’t have to erase your past- You only need to learn to live with it with acceptance and no regrets. Life is great and beautiful, so live in this amazing world to the maximum. The future has a lot to behold and a lot of wonderful things can yet happen.
